No immediate charges have been filed, the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement to the Associated Press. A spokesperson for Alec Baldwin described the shooting as an accident due to the misfire of a prop gun with blanks. The incident has rattled many industry figures who are questioning if the correct gun safety protocols were being practiced on set....

So NASCAR fans applauded Friday when Hendrick Motorsports announced that driver Alex Bowman’s No. 88 Chevrolet will carry the popular Folgers paint scheme Richmond used during his glory days at Hendrick. The special throwback paint scheme will be used in the Southern 500 Labor Day weekend at Darlington Raceway. The announcement came on what would have been Richmond’s 64th birthday. A jury in Connecticut on Wednesday ordered Jones to pay the families of eight Sandy Hook victims and an FBI agent who responded to the 2012 school shooting a total of $965 million for falsely claiming that the massacre was a hoax. Jones was also ordered to pay family members nearly $50 million in August following a separate trial in Texas. The Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre in Newtown, Connecticut, is the deadliest mass shooting at an elementary school in American history....

Footage posted to Twitter by Brendan Gutenschwager, an independent journalist, showed Jones, activist Ali Alexander and right-wing media personality Nick Fuentes occupying the rotunda of the Capitol building in Atlanta along with supporters of President Donald Trump. “This is a major moment. You guys are the literal vanguard, and Georgia is a key battleground state in all of this,” Jones told the crowd. The event started with eight GM’s and eight IMs, the strongest being GM’s Bauer, Stojanovic, Sokolov and Miezis, and the highest ranked fighting for the Swiss title were Gallagher, Kosteniuk, Gerber, Lötscher, Buss, Klauser and Carron....

While some people have theorized that Trump’s announcement that he tested positive as a possible campaign move, Ocasio-Cortez said she rejects that mindset, The Associated Press reported. “I personally don’t think it’s appropriate for us to be talking about how a diagnosis of a disease is a political play,” she said. She continued, saying that the president’s positive test is an important reminder about the need to take the virus seriously and follow protocol....

He must be impeached.” Ocasio-Cortez joins a growing list of congressional and 2020 hopeful Democrats who believe the newest justice should be impeached for additional allegations of sexual misconduct being brought to light in a New York Times report, which said a former Yale classmate witnessed a drunken Kavanaugh drop his pants and “thrust his penis” at a female student during a dorm party....
