The Himachal Pradesh Football Association will organize the All-India Football Festival at Kangra and Mandi in two phases from June 28 to July 1 and July 12 to 17, 2013. In the first phase at Kangra from June 28 to July 1, all 15 participating local Himachal Pradesh club sides will play a knockout format to qualify for the second and final phase of the Football Festival.
The Himachal Pradesh FA will be providing track suits to all participating local players and the motto is under ‘Fight against Drugs’ with the closing ceremony at Kangra to be attended by the Himachal Pradesh FA president Amit Pal.
The second phase will be organisd at Mandi from July 12 to 17 with the tournament then to be played on a league basis.
Meanwhile the Himachal Pradesh FA is working to promote football amongst the youth of the state with different level and age group tournaments across the state, which is sponsored by ONGC. The HPFA wants to chose 30 players from the first-leg of the Football Festival to start preparations for the 2014 Santosh Trophy.
