There have been multiple Alien games released in recent years that have been met with mixed responses. Alien: Isolation and Aliens: Fireteam Elite, for example, are two that have worked to expand the sci-fi universe of Alien with interesting stories but which lacked the gameplay elements that players were hoping for. Now, with the upcoming Aliens game, players should be optimistic about receiving an immersive and unique title.

The Aliens game is going to feature many exciting gameplay elements. The title will be released for consoles, PCs, and as a virtual reality game. Developed using Unreal Engine 5, the title is likely to include showstopping graphics. While the plot of the game is entirely unknown, Survios has stated that it will be a single-player adventure set after Alien but before the sequel film. It will follow a veteran of the military forces who is faced with a desire to destroy the aliens, or Xenomorphs. Gamers will likely be able to customize their character to some extent.
The Aliens game is still in development and will not be coming out any time in the near future. There are, however, a few more things about the title that viewers can learn from Survios. The game will be more than just horror; there will be a substantial action element as well, presumably involving players and different types of Xenomorphs. And, based on the promotional images from Survios, players can assume that the title will take place aboard ships and outposts like the ones that are seen in the James Cameron film. Of course, details of in-game maps won’t be confirmed until Survios releases more information about its developing title.
The story will be something completely new, and will hopefully be extremely effective in virtual reality. It will also have to fix the mistakes of Aliens: Fireteam Elite and restore players’ faith in the Alien gaming franchise. While that won’t be easy, if Survios and 20th Century Fox can pull it off, the new title might be a great way for gamers to experience an iconic universe. Unfortunately, fans will need to wait patiently until the title is released.
Aliens is currently in development.
