RELATED: Remedy Entertainment Would Make an Excellent Matrix Game

It’s important to note as well that some of the screenshots are from cutscenes, meaning that the entire game has gotten a graphical overhaul and not just the playable sections. It’s common for remasters to exclude cutscenes when addressing issues as they’re often pre-rendered and would take additional work to recreate, so it’s nice to see that Alan Wake Remastered seems to be going all out with its quality and attention to detail.

The listing doesn’t mention anything about the game’s release date, however, according to Niko Partners’ Senior Analyst, Daniel Ahmad, Alan Wake Remastered might be coming on October 5. That date falls in line with Remedy Entertainment’s statement that the remaster would be coming at some point this fall, but as there’s been no official word from the studio yet, nothing can be confirmed.

Alan Wake Remastered seems to be bucking the game’s previous trend of Xbox console exclusivity as there are listings for both PS4 and PS5 versions alongside its Xbox one. Fans seem to think that this remaster is intended to remind players of the characters and events that take place in the original game to set up a possible sequel or a tie-in with Remedy’s Control. At this time, there’s nothing to suggest that’s true other than speculation.

Alan Wake Remastered is in development.
